This comprehensive HazMat Operations course is designed for operations-level responders seeking operational knowledge and skills in hazardous materials management. Aligned with NFPA standards, the course builds on the foundational HazMat Awareness curriculum, preparing participants to safely and effectively provide initial response to hazardous incidents in the field. Course led by Jason Wickizer, a seasoned HazMat professional with over three decades of experience. His career spans roles as a responder on a Regional Hazardous Materials Team in the Midwest, an Industrial Team member at Hyundai in Eugene, and a Fire Department Operations-trained responder since the early 1990s. Jason’s expertise is further highlighted by his development of a Technician Class approved by FEMA Region 7 for HMEP Grant reimbursement in the early 2000s. His extensive hands-on experience includes responses to agricultural plane crashes involving chemicals and critical Weapon of Mass Destruction HazMat incidents. This blend of real-world expertise and academic insight ensures a uniquely practical and engaging learning experience.
